Hello everyone
i m a financial planner at BMO in Montreal canada, i make average 100k a year.
my goal is to become a fund manager or something like that. i took the level 2 exam in june 2015 and waiting!!!!!
i had a meeting with the portfolio managers BOSS at BMO private banking division (they manage client account with an asset of 500k and more). he said once i have the level 2, he can get me a job as a portfolio manager associate or assistant, but i will loose arround 20k a year as a salary, i will do that for 2 or 3 years and then can apply for a portfolio manager positions (they make from 150k and up depending on the asset under management). what i learned is these portfolio managers don t take much of decision, all the decisions comes from toronto and they can do whatever they want on 20% of the portfolio only. is this the right path or is there any other way??
thank s
