I've only just decided to take the exam this December. My working day is from 7am-7pm & don't know anything about accounting at all! Do I stand a chance?

Hi mimimomo,
I just registered last week!!! If you read my another post, you probably already know that I am from an engineering background and now I am working in the finance field. I don't want to waste my time, so I decide to take the Level 1 this December. So at least now you know there is a person start with you at the same time + without any finance background. I have struggled alot whether I should take it so soon, but anyway, now I register for it, means I have to do it. So both you and me shouldn't worry about whether we have enough time or whatever that will hold you back, just try your best!! =) |

Hi guys. Glad to hear there are people in the same situation as me! I registered last week as well and just received the textbooks yesterday. I work 9-5 each day so I can only study weeknights and weekends. Just going to read through all the material and write up my own notes on each of the LOS's. I refuse to use any of the 'big name' study notes as I believe they only induce you to not read the actual textbook material which is important to at least read. I may buy the analystnotes.com notes mainly to get the sample exams which would be beneficial for review purposes. Just my opinion. But good luck and just do your best! :-) |

I have not read the textbooks yet, because I thought it is easy to pass level 1, I did the assess test on CFAI web site, it is kind of easy, do you think the real test will be harder? if it does, I am going to read the textbooks, if they are the same, I won't read that books. Please give me you ideas! |

If anyone is interested in buying the Schweser notes for the Dec exam let me know. I have only "used" book 1.

FuDezhi,
I had to log on just to give you a heads up. I passed level one in June. It is nothing like the assessment test on the web. It is uncategorically the most difficult test I have ever taken in my life. Buy notes, Schweser or analystnotes seem to be the best. Good luck. |
