I am planning to register for the Dec L1 exam and need some prep advice. I have a finance degree but have been out of school for 10 years in a retail financial sales position. I was given AnalystNotes ebook 2009 by a friend. What would be the best course of study given my situation and the time I should receive and start studying the new 2015 materials? Thanks and good luck to all. |

2009 Materials will not work for 2015 as lot has changed in the curriculum. I would start early like at least June/July and keep chugging along until Dec L1 exam. Start with subjects you have never dealt with from the CFAI textbook (if you have time) and the rest AN should be more than enough...... Practice lots off questions from AN web site once u finish studying all the subjects...( by October end) Start solving review questions for each study session and CFAI mock exams in Nov.... This should be more than enough for you to clear the exam...... |

You should start asap even with older material. IT takes a lot of time, to read and master the material. When your work time could be an issue. |

i would suggest spending a month and a bit reading through everything and making notes and the remainder of the time doing practice problems and focusing on remembering formulas etc... |
