Well, I was one of the lucky ones who was a level 1 band 10 fail in June. I was extremely disappointed for about a day and then I picked myself up and started assessing what went wrong and what I could do differently. The one thing that has made the biggest difference this time around: figuring out what my learning style is. This was at the suggestion of my sister, a teacher. There are several simple online tests that can give you an idea of how you learn best. I have always thought that I was a visual learner and at some point I probably was. But learning styles seem to change and I was shocked to see that I am primarily an auditory learner with visual being secondary. When I studied last time, I read, made and reviewed flashcards, worked tons of QBANK questions, and did 3 mock exams. I put in about 350 hours but I'm not sure that all of that was quality between having a family and work obligations. I knew that I needed to study smarter this time around and so far that is really going well. I'm far less stressed and my study time is definitely quality. I read here but rarely post... but after finishing FRA (my worst area in June) this weekend and scoring a 90% on the CFAI topic test for FRA, I just had to share what's been working for me. I hope this helps a few people! |
