It says to arrive one hour early, then it says that instructions are read 5 minutes before the exam begins. What do we do for the other 55 minutes....? I'd rather get some extra sleep. Does anybody know?

not sure whether it's the same system in every exam centre, but for London 30-40 min in advance was fine. the doors were closed 15-20 min before the exam so anybody arriving after that time wasn't let in.

Well it does say they won't repeat the instructions for those arriving late, which implies that you will be let in. ftse100's suggestion of 30-40 min seems good.

After all of that studying, you're going to try to squeak by on the meaningless stuff? C'mon.

If I want to take the train I have a choice of being there at 7:20 or 8:20 for a 9am start. That's why it's important to me. Twenty minutes actually means an hour. If all goes as planned, I won't be in any condition to drive home after the exam which makes driving a poor choice.

Get there at 8:20. you'll have more than enough time. i got there 30 minutes prior to commencement at each level and never had problems. waiting from 7:20 on is not worth it, you'll be exhausted enough from writing the damn thing, never mind having to wake up at 6am.

if people tell you otherwise, ask them their success rate at the CFA program and then ask me...then you can make your own decision.

By the way, I love this site. Good work analystnotes team!

Do bring sweater if possible. Certain test centers are very cold. I was shivering through my CFA exam the last time around.
