Dear friends,
My name is Kevin, I am working as a Software Engineer in a big Bank. My background is 5 years telecom system design and buggeting experience and 5 years software engineer experience. Because I realize that after a few years, I may be not able to code and develop the software any more ( at least it is hard to program if you are older than 45, I am 36 now), I like to switch to financial area. My questions is: how do you think the job market for CFA? what is the average salary compared to the IT consultant? Do you think it is the wise move from SE to CFA? Do you think that the communication skills is the key qualification to become CFA? Thank you for any of your kind input Kevin |

The market goes in phases. Currently it is in a bear mode and demand is not as high as it was a few years ago but this will change in time. Secondly it can only help if you upgrade your skills by enrolling in the CFA program. |
