I have just finished my last reading of study notes (working full time and started in February) and I am trying to decide on the best course of action for doing practice problems till the exam. Here is my tentative plan; any input and/or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am able to commit on average 5 hours per day to studying.

All CFAI EOC questions done by 4/30 (time during this period is constrained)

5/1-5/10 one AnalystNotes mock exam a day (closed note and timed) and avg of 120 practice problems (open note) per day

5/12 CFAI Mock Exam

5/13-5/20 Reread areas where weak points were shown on AnalystNotes and CFAI Mock exams, combined with appropriate review questions for each study session.

The remainder of the time I frankly do not know what I should do other than repeat the process. The final week is most curious to me. I will have to work but nonstop cramming is one way or should I pursue a more relaxed study schedule if I am performing at 80% or better on questions and mocks? Maybe reread CFAI ethics? Also during this period I will be doing flash cards for formulas and important concepts. Obviously things come up and this schedule could be pushed out but that is my general plan.

Thoughts on the overall strategy?

I cannot speak from experience, but I am inclined to believe that if you spend 5 hours per day working through problem sets and committing formulas to memory, you have a fighting chance come June 1. Sure, there is some gamesmanship in preparing for this exam, but those benefits are marginal. Right now, I am just concentrating on putting in the hours and tackling problem sets. Revisiting ethics during the final week seems like a good idea - thanks for the suggestion! The reading is pretty light, but from what I gather, it should not be underestimated.

Pretty comprehensive review - I will echo the idea that reviewing ethics at the end is a good idea. I spent the final week before L1 reviewing various topics during the day (I had off from work this week), and then drilling ethics problems and browsing the CFAI ethics material at night. There are too many tiny details that need to be committed to memory there and its wise to review it close to exam day.
