Does anyone know how the CFAI determines required work experience? I mean how they can distinguish one job from another. Do they shadow you? Do they call your boss and ask about responsibilities. Do you think this is just a deterrent from entry level people taking the exam? |

Your supervisor has to be one of your sponsors. He usually describes your job responsibility and gives a personal opinion if it meets the criteria. If you are self-employed you need two local CFA sponsors. They will check your credentials I guess. If they are your personal friends then I see no problems for you. |

What if you have experience at more than one job? Three years of my experience will be coming from my current job, where my boss (charterholder) will be my sponsor. One year of the experience will be coming from my prior job, of which I really have no contact with anyone anymore. How will CFAI verify that? |

One of your sponsors has to be a Charter holder. There's a spot on the form for their Charter #. At least thats how it was in years gone by. The obvious reason is so that your sponsor has something at risk if they b.s. your work experience too. |

I hope if I get all the way to Level 3 they don't deny me a Charter based on the work requirement. I have a small RIA registered in two states but am the sole employee. I have not been able to get my local CFA chapter to respond to my replies for membershipe etc. |

I am using your study notes and I know of at least 5 other friends of mine who used it and passed the exam last Dec. Keep up your great work!
