Hello,

I am reading from the CFAI books but I find myself reading word by word and spending too much time. It has been a week since I started and I only finished one reading. Can I finish before May givin this pace?

Is that as slow as a turtle? How do you read faster and more efficiently?

What do you guys do on working days, how do you manage to clear your mind to sit & read.

Thanks

In Level I it is not necessary to complete CFAI text books for passing out in the exam. I used Shweser for Level I and the areas which I couldn't find clear or found myself lacking in understanding them, completed them from Curriculum. Especially the Ethics, a part from GIPS section, you should do them from Curriculum. Apart from them Shweser was enough for me to pass the exam.

Some of my friends used analystnotes (I found this site too late, actually after the exam) and they said the notes are good too. I will try it for my level 2 study next year.

Good Luck.

I found it easier for me to use analystnotes study notes for the first-time reading and the textbook for a review. While reviewing you can just skim over what you remember well (like TVM or corporate governance) and dwell into more complicated topics (like FRA) as they are thoroughly described in CFAI book.

And yes, ethics definitely worths a couple of readings from the textbook/Standards of Practice Handbook.

I was very pleased with your notes and question bank. I especially like the mock exams because it helped to pull everything together.
