I am taking CFA L1 in December 10. I will be graduating this May. I started studying volume 1. I skipped ethics sections and directly went to quantitative analysis. Finished it in couple of days. That was last month. I stopped studying due to course load at my school and I am planning to start again as soon as I graduate. I am going to start working in July.

I was wondering if I have enough time to study for the exam. Should I read all the books or just read other materials available outside. The reason quantitative analysis took me only couple of days is because I have taken a course that exactly teaches the same material. I have not taken any other economics/finance classes.(Electrical and Computer Engineering Major).

Please advice.

I planned 6 months of study for an exam. However, I've a background in finance and I take my time (during some weeks, I don't study). Some staff, will be hard to you; if especially, you do not have a background in finance. It is possible to pass L1 if you start to study now but you should be very disciplined.

I passed! I did not get a chance to tell you before the exam - but your site was excellent. I will definitely take it next year for Level II.
