I will be finishing my senior year in undergrad this summer. That means I could actually pass level one without graduating yet. Has anybody known anybody who has done this? How do you feel that looks to prospective employers? |

Im in the same situation. First of all, I dont think its a huge deal having just a level one. After all you are not chartered until you have all three levels AND the work experience. On the other hand I have been told by people in the industry that it can mark you out from the rest (i.e. other graduates)in that it shows solid commitment and interest. This is probably more important than any supposed knowledge you may gain from studying for the exam. We are going to need every small advantage we can get given the current environment! |

I completely agree with britpoprock. Even though you haven't finished taking the tests to earn your CFA Charter, the fact alone that you are taking the initiative and time to further your own education is impressive to prospective employers. I also am finishing my last year in undergrad and I recently went through the interview process and landed a great banking job. I definitely highlighted this point in interviews. You will be surprised how many Charterholders interview you... |
