Hello everyone,

I just had my IB interview again today. I really couldn't believe how bad the interview process went. Actually, I had a rough + arrogant guy whom seems to put me down on everything, keep saying IB people deal with "sophisticated + technical" programming, self-believe himeself to have un-imaginable knowledge in investment and finance, and repeatedly mention the compensation + career all people makes in the IB firms. According to his words, "CFA, CPA, MBA, FSA... are all useless symbols after one's name and are for people who don't even know what they are doing." Next, He said an IB in his later years could be the "most" successful career and the highest paid $$ professional in the world.

Am I being interviewed or there to listen to his bluff!!! Luckily I didn't explode all my anger but left the room with a frustrated-smile.

Wonder what you guys think about this...
What are some other "bad" experiences possible?

He could afford to say that if he is bringing in business and is able to keep his job, otherwise he would be having plenty of time watching tv at home and reflect back at what he said. His definition of most successful career might be 'money', which is important, but not the only thing.

Twice I had an interview, in last three years, where the Interviewer did most of the talking and hardly asked me any questions. I asked most of the questions, basically they were trying to sell the job to me which I accepted in both instance.

If they want you, they would do their best to get you in. Now I have left my job and I have been sending endless applications all over the place, but no luck (until yesterday) and could I complain about anything, no, it's just that I am no longer wanted. So if they don't want you, no matter how hard you try, you can't have it and even if you get to an interview, they could afford to say whatever they feel like, they are the ones with the jobs.

Yesterday I had an Interview, very tough questions which I didn't answered very well, and I thought it was just waste of time, but this morning I received an offer letter. Maybe, they were looking for something in particular and I did meet their requirements and I wasn't just that much confident about myself. Hard to say anything about the interviews these days, its tricky.

I am using your study notes and I know of at least 5 other friends of mine who used it and passed the exam last Dec. Keep up your great work!
