Might be a dumb questions but since they don't allow you to bring anything to drink into the test do they at least put a water cooler in the back of the room?? |

No. You're not allowed to drink during the exam. The goal is to be 3/3 without a sip of water during the exam. That's the ultimate standard to reach for. If you can't live for 3 hours without water than you're not strong enough to be a Chartered Elite Financial Analyst. Yes there is a water cooler / fountain at the test center. |

At my testing center candidates were placed in a white concrete basin reflecting the overhead sun for 6 hours before proctors would allow them inside to take the exam. If candidates tapped out because they couldn't hack it and needed a drink, proctors would immediately mark them in a book and they are required to show up at subsequent exams wearing red armbands that mark them as hydration casualties. Ultimately, if anyone drinks water during the exam, they are required to use the CFA marks with an asterisk. I always know the finance professionals that couldn't go the distance when I see the business card saying, John Smith, CFA*. It's like, I'd rather be a CFP than be forced to use the CFA mark with the asterisk. It's just embarrassing. |
