I signed up for level 1 a couple of months ago (first time). Due to work and personal conflicts I have not been able to prepare for the exam. So I have basically thrown away several hundred dollars for the registration fee. At this point, should I go ahead and sit for the exan, just to get the experience? Or should I just not even show up at the test center on Dec 1.? |

You can't get refund anyway. So why not go ahed and get a taste if you planning to try it again. |

I agree with FCFA, you could use it as an opportunity to get a feeling for what the exam is like. On the other hand, sitting for it while being ill-prepared might be a waste of time and a frustrating experience. In my case, I might have skipped it altogether, made use of the withdrawal option, signed up for the next exam and moved on from there. |

you shoulf check the CFAI website to be sure but I think you cannot withdraw your candidacy for this term anymore. As you gonna have to wait for the results to be out to register (pay) for the next exam (june 2008). The extra cost for you will be $88.
