This is my first message in the forum . As I know nobody who has done a CFA, I turned to a forum :)
I work as a risk analyst in credit cards. I looked at the positions that need to be held to get a CFA. My position was not stated explicitly. Will my position make me eligible? Also, Does this requirement have to be fulfilled after all 3 levels are passed?

I might sound silly but I am just a starter. I would appreciate your help.

you can take the exams before or after you get the experience, but the actual charter isn't awarded until you have both the exams and the experience, and there's a bunch of folks who've passed all 3 levels but can't get the charter yet because they lack experience.

Hi! My first msg too in the forum, (or any e-forum for that mater).
I'm in the trust business but doing mostly marketing and sales. In my experience as a marketing person, my prospects/clients provide more time, info, and assets/funds for management if the person they talk with are really hands-on, has solid credibility on investments, and can provide alternative ways on trust and investment management. Due to this and over time, I have developed a wanting to learn more about investments, and indeed take the CFA exam series in the future. To prepare me with this, can you recommend subjects that I should start working on, and is there an age limit? I'm 28. Thank you for your help!

To 'pappan': I received a brochure where it says "CFA eligibility checklist. To apply for the CFA Program you must have either: a) A US bachelor's degree or comparable non US degree (the degree requirement is self-reporting), or b) at least 4 years qualified work experience (not including summer, part-time or internship positions) - a combination of university and professional work is acceptable."

To 'kjbs': There is no age limit. Until you enrol, start with the subject you enjoy the most, from the 18 study sessions of Level I. It doesn't matter which one you start with, you have to do them all once you become a candidate.

Hi, I just joined the club reading did I understand that one need both experience plus passed exams to be charter. When experience or job positions that qualifies? Anyone? Thanks.

I was very pleased with your notes and question bank. I especially like the mock exams because it helped to pull everything together.
