Hi,
I would like to see if you think I should do CFA or not..

Facts:
I'm 30, some years of experience, engineer (average abilities)
looking for job and thought, while searching for a position (as analyst or controller) I could take basic cours in National + Microeconomics at same time as CFA (level 1 in jun)
I really enjoyed the courses I took in corporate finance (Brealey Myers), and thought instead of taking "interesting courses" that wouldn't be real credentials take a CFA (would also make me more focused)

My goal is to work as financial analyst (buy-side) or analyst in corp fin. dep. of a company/smaller bank..I like being expert in a area, analyzing, giving advise and forecast the future...

I'm note sure if CFA would be too much investment for what I want (4 years, 400h/exam), or for other reasons I should or shouldn't take it.

thanks!

You are asking a very personal question: if you want to be a financial analyst, then CFA is a must. How much efforts? That depends on your background, smartness, etc.

I am happy to say that I passed! Your study notes certainly helped prepare me for what was the most difficult exam I had ever taken.
