Got a question for you guys, tried searching around to see if anyone was faced with a similar decision but couldn't find anything. I do apologize if something similar has already been posted. Here's the preface. I passed CFA Level I back in December 2015. Knowing how difficult the Level I exam was and how time intensive the studying is, I opted to skip out on the 2016 Level II and decided to go for the 2017 sitting instead. I figured that would give me as much time as possible where I could take my time and study with no stress whatsoever. I registered the first day we were able to. I have to say the studying started off really well. By late September I found myself reading through the material in my leisure making cue cards on things I deemed important and whatnot. That continued regularly until the turn of 2017. The last 5 months I have not spent a single hour studying any of the material. I suffered a torn ACL and the recovery from surgery has taken up a lot of my free time. With full-time work, part-time work on the side and physical therapy I felt like I just didn't want to stress myself out knowing I wouldn't of been able to give it my all. From all that I can say I know with 100% certainty that I don't know the material well enough to pass the exam. Sorry for the lengthy post but my question is, is it still worth it to make the treck there and actually sit through the exam? Or by not having studied the material is it all just going to be a huge waste of time? |

1) If you found CFA L1 hard, then I am speechless. 2) Don't take the exam. There are people that never fail exams and then there's the rest. Which group do you want to be in? You must fear failing an exam and hate losing just like an athlete absolutely detests losing. |

If you've already paid the non refundable fee, assuming you don't live a crazy long way from the testing center, what is there to lose? Only good practice & you can see where you stand by what band you get. The experience of sitting there and going through the problems will help you later. |
CFA Discussion Topic: Should I still take the exam?
I passed! I did not get a chance to tell you before the exam - but your site was excellent. I will definitely take it next year for Level II.
