Hello, I recently purchased the HP 12c (gold) financial calculator. I was wondering if anyone could explain to me the difference between the gold and the Platinum and whether the Platinum is worth the difference in price. Thanks!! |

I tried the HP12C platinum 25th anniversary edition, and I see two major differences between that and the gold HP12C: The platinum does algebraic notation as well as reverse polish notation. The plain HP12C does only reverse polish notation. The processor in the platinum is much faster than the plain HP12C. The platinum does an IRR calculation in no time, whereas the plain HP12C is quite slow. These are the main differences that I see, and in my personal opinion they do not justify the difference in price. I rely on the plain HP 12C. |
