Hi all I just graduate college in Israel and planning on coming to NYC and work in the finance industry. I guess not many have heard about my college hence thinking of getting an american credential such as CFA designation. I plan to do MBA anyway (I have top grades) and need an advice from people who work in the industry. To what extent will it help me to do CFA if I'll have an MBA? Do I even have a chance to get a job, given that I graduate a nonamerican school and english is not my mother tongue? I'm not picky and ready to take any job related to investments. Also, I've heard one need work experience in order to get into a good MBA program,is it true? Thanks in advance |

I will tell u my experience. I am from Peru. I got an scholarship and i graduated from a school in WA. Upon graduation, i went to NYC, I didnt know anything and anybody in that city. My english was not excellent and my accent was very strong, something than americans dont like. However i got a job after two weeks of applying in a very respected financial company as an analyst. Then, I moved back to Peru after a year because i missed my family. Now i am working in a Big 4. NYC is a tough city. The smartest people in the world is there. It is very competitive environment. You need to have more credentials......TAKE THE CFA. |

I am using your study notes and I know of at least 5 other friends of mine who used it and passed the exam last Dec. Keep up your great work!
