I'm taking the CFA in December and just ordered the CFA materials yesterday. I passed the CFP exam in Novemeber, so some of the overlapping concepts are still somewhat fresh in my mind. What I don't understand is exactly what is on the level 1 exam vs level 2 or 3. I downloaded the outline that lists all the topics. It says "The Level 1 study program emphasizes tools and inputs and includes an introduction to asset valuation and portfolio management techniques. So are all the topics from the CBOK on the exam, but just easier and in different weights with the level 1 test? Is the study material the same for all 3 exams? If so, why do you have to buy separate books for the 3 exams? I'd like to have a lot of practice questions that are just as hard or harder than the actual exam. When I took the CFP I was shocked how difficult the questions were and can't believe I managed to pass it. Considering that the CFA has an even lower pass rate, I'd like to be prepared for anything. I don't see anything on the outline that specifically mentions it being tools and inputs or introductory material to asset valuation and portfolio management techniques. What topics from the outline should I start reviewing now? |

I just wanted to share the good news that I passed CFA Level I!!! Thank you for your help - I think the online question bank helped cut the clutter and made a positive difference.
