This is a more informative post Hi, I have been a financial analyst for a number of years in the UK and moved to Canada 3 years ago. My work has mainly been calculation based - redress calcs/comparative calcs/actuarial etc and I have been a contractor for the last 6 years doing work for Assurance companies/actuarial firms /Pricewaterhousecoopers etc etc. When I was in the UK I knew who were the main employers and best agencies/headhunters etc t contact, however since being in Canada, I have mainly serviced my UK clients and studied. Therefore I would apreciate it if anyone had any lists of suitable employers or agencies or headhunters etc in the area. Since being in Canada I have taken (and passed) the Canadian Securities Exams as follows: Canadian Securities Course (CSC) Investment Management Techniques (IMT) Portfolio Management techniques (PMT) Awarded the Canadian Investment Manager status Technical Analysis Course (TAC) Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) Ethics Module (Institutional Clients) I have Insurance Underwriting skills Pension scheme analysis Actuarial benefit calc analysis Endowment fund analysis Extensive analysis and calculation expeience in the financial services market Comparative Calculations and report writing Compliance checking Formulating plans and implementing systems to meet regulatory guidelines/deadlines 6 years as a contractor for Pricewaterhouse, Insurance companies and leading actuarial houses. Canadian financial exams - CSC, IMT, PMT, TAC, CPH, Ethics and CIM and FCSI designations and being a CFA student Project Management experience I am aged 39 and want to get into a research analyst or Portfolio/Fund Manager role and wondered if with the above and experience and with studies for CFA (L1 in June) will I be OK I have also run my own financial consultancy business for the past 6/7 years and been Director/CEO etc of it. Any help here would be very much apreciated. Kind regards Steve |

Hi ncfa, When I got the FCSI last week I joined the CSI Exchange so have just started using this facility. I have also looked at the local CFA site which is useful, however I was looking for some names of good headhunters and recruitment firms that I could deal with as they know the markets best.
